Wehinmi Shekoni

Wehinmi A. Shekoni is an Associate Attorney with Whitbeck Bennett. Ms. Shekoni previously worked as an Associate Attorney at the Hopkins Law Firm, where she represented clients in family law cases, and criminal law cases matters such as DUI, speeding, and reckless driving. She litigated and represented clients in divorce cases, custody and visitation cases, child and spousal support cases, enforcement cases, and protective orders. Ms. Shekoni has litigated and represented clients in multiple counties such as Prince William County, Fairfax County, Fauquier County, Loudoun County, Stafford County, and Fredrick/Warren County. While at the Hopkins Law Firm PLLC, she also worked on simple wills, power of attorney, and alternative medical directives. Ms. Shekoni previously worked at the Drug Enforcement Administration as a contractor with Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs, where she handled and settled administrative claims pursuant to the Federal Tort Claims Act, specifically property damage and personal injury claims. Ms. Shekoni worked as a Contractor with the Stone Turn Group reviewing documents pertaining to the compliance of a corporation’s action with company policy and federal law. She also worked with the Sentenc-ing Project, where she was able to conduct research and analyze data on the racial disparity with regards to felons sentenced to life with or without parole for non-violent drug crimes. Ms. Shekoni has represented clients in worker’s compensation dispute cases.
