After being admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 2016, Devon served another brief stint with the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s office before accepting a position with a small family law practice in Norman, OK. He practiced there for 4.5 years, focusing on family law matters ranging from issues related to divorce, paternity, custody, visitation and child support modification proceedings (for both minor and disabled adult children), guardianships (for minors and adults), actions for contempt, probate and estate planning. He also practiced some criminal defense (primarily minor offenses and misdemeanors), in addition to prosecuting a few small claims actions. From 2019-2020, Devon spent one day per month working as a volunteer attorney for the Oklahoma County Courthouse Access Clinic, assisting low-income families with simple probate and guardianship matters.
Devon has an eye for details and prides himself on his research and writing abilities. He has a strong passion for helping others, which is what originally led him to the practice of law and why he still finds it so rewarding. Since a young age, he has been heavily involved in competitive sports, and that competitive edge carries over into just about all that he does. Nonetheless, he carefully tempers that drive with a steadfast adherence to the concomitant belief that professional cooperation is a necessary component in the pursuit of achieving outcomes that are in the clients’ best interests.
Devon and his wife, Jennifer, were blessed with the birth of their first child in December 2020. When not at work, Devon is treasuring every moment of his newfound role as “dad.” Their family loves spending time outdoors, preferably near water, with their dapper dog, Howard “Wolowitz” Walke. He also enjoys playing soccer in a weekly indoor league and is an avid sports fan – particularly when it comes to the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder.
