Erin Sweet is a Associate Attorney at WhitbeckBennett. After graduating with a BA in Politics and American Studies from the University of Virginia in 2019, she joined AmeriCorps to work as an Education Intervention Fellow in Wilmington, Delaware. She used her degree concentration in Housing and Education Inequalities to not only direct the Literacy Program at her middle school placement, but also to start up several non-profits focused on providing access to mentorship, extracurriculars, and internships for low-income and housing-unstable children.
During her time in law school, Erin was the co-editor of the Symposium issue of the Public Interest Law Review where she also co-hosted the 2023 Symposium on special education law. She was also a Program Manager for the Carrico Pro Bono Center and took part in the Children’s Defense Clinic. Erin graduated with her Pro Bono Certificate and her Family Law Certificate with distinction.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her dog, Tad and her family and friends exploring the city of Richmond. She loves gardening, crocheting, and attending the RVA Big Market every Saturday.
